Microdermabrasion

The SkinBase™ Microdermabrasion Facial is a progressive rather than aggressive treatment, during which you’ll feel completely relaxed and pampered with no discomfort from the facial.
How does microdermabrasion work? Over the course of your facial treatments a wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals will be passed over the skin. Dead skin particles will be abraded away and a vacuum action will remove the debris.
This dual action will both resurface the skin and stimulate the blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce collagen and elastin.
With each of your subsequent SkinBase treatments, the intensity of the facial microdermabrasion can be increased – reaching to deeper layers and successfully removing acne scarring, lifting pigmentation and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles

What does microdermabrasion treat? The SkinBase Facial targets a whole multitude of ‘skin sins’. Microdermabrasion treatments can be used for anything from stretch marks, fine lines, acne scarring, open pores, and dull, tired skin to ageing skin, uneven skin tone and pigmentation.

What are the benefits? The benefits of microdermabrasion are many.
As a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion is quick, convenient and painless, immediately restoring younger, smoother looking skin without the need for chemicals, lasers or injectablesThe huge number of benefits is what makes microdermabrasion such a popular treatment!

The vacuum action during The SkinBase Facial works to stimulate the production of collagen, something we lose gradually as we age. This stimulation and skin’s renewal improves the condition of the skin’s surface – helping to target ageing skin, stretch marks, pigmentation, cellulite, dry and dehydrated skin and acne scarring.
For anti-ageing treatments, all skin types and tones from ages 28 and up will benefit the most from The SkinBase Facial. However, for problematic skin such as Acne Scarring all age groups can benefit. Under 16 year olds will need a parental co-sign however

Spray Tan

I use AWARD WINNING Sienna X sunless tan on my clients. It is packed with amazing, natural ingredients, works with your natural Ph levels, and it does not transfer onto clothes. With the correct preparation, you can expect a natural, streak free tan that lasts.

Prepping your skin for a spray tan is essential if you want to ensure that your golden glow lasts as long as possible. Fortunately most of the prep work is probably a firm fixture in your beauty routine anyway; good news for us lazy ladies!

Remove unwanted hair. Try to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan. If you don’t remove unwanted hair your tanning solution will cling to your hair shafts, creating a dotty and uneven finish. Waxing is an excellent choice as it will prevent hair growth for up to a month but be sure to this well before your treatment. This will allow your follicles to close up, ensuring that your tan looks balanced, even and natural. Shaving too early after your tanning treatment will strip your skin of its caramel hue so waxing is an excellent option for prolonging your colour.

Exfoliate. The night before your tan exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliator or scrub to slough off the top layer of dead skin cells. Removing these cells will reveal the fresh skin cells beneath, which will form the smooth base that your spray tan will stick to. The fresher your skin cells, the longer the life of your tan – it’s as simple as that!

Apply nail polish. I will usually apply a barrier cream to your nails before you enter the spray tan booth to prevent tanning solution from staining your nail bed and cuticles. Apply nail varnish to your fingernails and toes before your treatment for an extra layer of protection.

Avoid perfumes and deodorant on the day of your tan because some of the chemicals found in these products can prevent fake tan from adhering to the skin smoothly. Also remember to tie your hair back and use a headband to stop any solution from getting on your hair. Bring along some loose clothing, like a baggy t-shirt or dress, to wear after your session, which will allow for your freshly applied tan to dry thoroughly.

To prolong your tan, moisturise daily. Your tan will gradually fade as your skin naturally sheds
